We support families in Uganda in building a life of their own. The focus is on vocational training, particularly for young people whose families cannot afford to send them to school.
The Kijaguzo community lies in the former Luweero Triangle in central Uganda - a region deeply marked by the war of liberation after the Idi Amin era. Around 70,000 people live here, most of them young. About 65% get by on less than two euros a day.
In Kijaguzo we train mainly young people in three trades that allow them to earn their own living.
From the first stitches to the finished garment: in six months the young women learn the basics they need to take on commissions of their own.
Hairdressing is needed in small villages too, so the training is a solid basis for working independently and earning an income of their own.
Boda-bodas are part of everyday life in Uganda. Anyone who can service and repair motorbikes has skills that are needed everywhere in the region.
We do not use donations for administrative costs. Your support reaches the people and our projects in Uganda in full. As a signatory of the Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft, we publish our figures every year.

These sponsorships run as monthly standing orders - income we can count on, which lets us plan the training courses for the long term. For the remaining 17 places we are still looking for sponsors.

€250 gives successful graduates the basic equipment they need to start out on their own: a sewing machine, tools or the kit their trade requires.
An open donation supports the construction of our own training centre in Kijaguzo. It gives the training a permanent home and saves rental costs in the long run.
